It's called lightening up, it's fun, you should try it!


With mass shootings, natural disasters, poverty, and Trump constantly weighing on our minds it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay upbeat and motivated.

You've got your cup of coffee in hand and as you start your daily ritual of online browsing the general content you happen upon just makes your heart sink even further.

LIGHTEN UP, PEOPLE! The world is crying out for some comic relief. It is a fact that posting fluffier content on your social media will generate more likes, shares, and retweets than that of a heavy-hearted nature. Humor creates a "feel-good" connection between people and instantly makes you likable.

It's also a misconception that comic relief has no place in the B2B world. People are afraid that they won't be taken seriously as business owners when trying to elicit a response from consumers by using a humorous approach.

In fact, this couldn't be further from the truth. There are some serious heavyweights active across social media platforms whose entire social media campaign evokes some giggles from the masses. 

Take for eg. 

1. Charmin

The hashtags they come up with for their posts are so on point and just hilarious. #EnjoytheGo, #PottyPoetry and #tweetfromtheseat are among the many creative hashtags they have thrown out there.

With their number of followers reaching 72,5K it's obvious that humor, in this case, works and works well. Don't you think that this gives them a certain sense of authority in their field while also setting them apart from their competitors as being unique, liked and approachable?  People will ultimately keep coming back for more because it's just .... well, hilarious!

Let's take a quick look at some more heavy weights who also leans their marketing strategies toward the comical side. 

2.  DiGiorno Pizza

With a following of 108K, DiGiorno has a very laid back and random take on their tweeting style. We just love their random pizza related tweets.

What a straightforward and dry sense of humor, but it also seems to work for them. Their following is growing and their latest campaign "Invisible world" just cracks us up.
